NEVER DELAY THE ALARM
“The reason no one can wake up early is because the first thing any of us do in the morning is to turn back,” he said. “I would turn off my alarm and then go back and wait for my next alarm.”
PUT THE PHONE AWAY FROM THE BED
He explained that if he set his alarm for 5:30, he knew ‘he didn’t actually have to get up until 7:30’, which caused him to snooze his alarm for about two hours. “It’s the first thing we all have to do and I’m very sorry to say this but we have to start putting our phones away,” he said. “My phone now charges on my desk away from my bed and has significantly increased my urge to get up.”
DRINKING A GLASS OF WATER IN THE MORNING
Reilly also keeps a glass of water next to her bed and forces herself to drink it.
According to Reilly, the combination of light and booze from the sunrise alarm keeps her from going back to bed.
In his tips for those who want to wake up early in the morning, Reilly advised ‘use the normal alarm clock and turn on the lamp IMMEDIATELY’ before drinking the water.
‘None of us have to get up early unless we have responsibilities. If you want to get better at getting up early, this can help.’
