According to 9 News, the Australian Red Cross Committee announced that Harrison had lost his life in a nursing home on February 17th.
He started giving blood when he was 18
Harrison, who first started to give blood at the age of 18 in 1954, donated 1173 times during his life and is thought to save 2.4 million babies thanks to the plasma obtained from his blood.
It contributed to the preparation of the blood display needle
Harrison also contributed to the preparation of a blood mismatch needle known as “anti-D” thanks to the excess plasma in his blood.
