German-speaking Twitch streamer LetsHugo has surprisingly announced that he is taking an indefinite break. He plans to see a therapist and sort out personal matters in order to improve his health and well-being.
Who is LetsHugo? The Luxembourg streamer, known for his entertaining and humorous style, has built up an impressive fan base in German-speaking countries. With a follower count of over 900,000 people on Twitch, he even surpasses the population of his home country.
The 21-year-old dropped out of school after ninth grade to devote himself to streaming full-time. Initially starting with a small audience of around ten viewers, he quickly gained popularity through regular streams of games like Minecraft and Just Chatting.
As early as October 2022, several hundred viewers were regularly following his streams. His final breakthrough came in March 2023 by taking part in the “No Food Challenge” of his colleague Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler.

Announcement of an unexpected break
What does the streamer say about his time off? Despite his long-standing activity on Twitch and his steady success, LetsHugo has now made a surprising decision: he is taking a break.
On July 4, 2024, he informed his fans about his plans via WhatsApp, where 21,000 people follow him. In his post, he wrote that he wanted to withdraw for a few days or weeks because he wasn’t feeling well at the moment. “In general, I’m not feeling crazy perfect right now, but I think you’ve known that for weeks,” the streamer explained.
The exact length of his break is uncertain – it should last until he feels better.
What reasons did he give? LetsHugo did not go into detail about the reasons for his hiatus in his announcement, only saying that several factors contributed to his decision.
In a long conversation with his colleague and friend Kevin, known as Papaplatte, LetsHugo decided to see a therapist during his break.
Users suspect that his brother plays a role
What does his brother have to do with it? In his WhatsApp post, LetsHugo emphasized that his time off had nothing to do with a current issue that he wanted to resolve privately. This statement led to speculation among his fans, especially on Reddit.
A user named Craftplorer wrote: “Does that even mean Kevin? You could also read that he wanted to clarify something privately and talked to Kevin about it as an advisor. EDIT: It’s probably about his brother. He also talked about it in his last stream!”

What happened between him and his brother? The current issue, which LetsHugo would like to clarify privately, may concern a conflict with his brother, who also streams under the name ByTobi.
During a livestream at TwitchCon, his brother was filming when LetsHugo walked by in the background and gave the camera a middle finger.
The brothers’ apparently complicated relationship is a recurring topic in their streams and in the community. There was already a stir in July 2023 when LetsHugo walked past ByTobi in a clip and apparently ignored him.
In a statement on TikTok, the streamer explained that he hadn’t seen his brother at all. He also wanted to keep his family out of his content and that people should just let him and his brother do their thing.
This situation has escalated again in recent days as it has gained renewed attention through viral TikToks. Despite the heated atmosphere, LetsHugo stated that his time off had nothing to do with this incident and that he would like to resolve this matter privately.
Back in September of last year, LetsHugo announced that he wanted to slow down a bit. At the time, however, this was due to problems with his physical health. You can find out more about this here: 20-year-old has been on Twitch every day for 4 years, now says: “I can’t do it anymore”
