Mehmet Keskin, 73, from Osmaniye, suffered from gait disturbance due to neck hernia, loss of movement and strength in both arms for 30 years. Mehmet Keskin, who had surgery last week, underwent a microsurgical operation that lasted 2 hours. The spine, which had lost its characteristics, was removed and all the damage in the spinal cord was repaired, and a titanium spine was placed on Keskin. Mehmet Keskin, who started walking on the same day, was discharged 3 days later.

Mehmet Keskin, who said that he had not had surgery for 30 years and came to the hospital in the last stage of the disease, said, “I can walk. I can raise my arms. God bless everyone. Before I went into surgery, I was very scared and said goodbye to everyone,” he said.

Pointing out that his surgery was delayed by his friends, Keskin said, “They have discouraged me from the idea of surgery for 30 years. I also told our teacher, ‘You studied medicine, but they became doctors without studying medicine’. They always told me ‘don’t go’, and I became like this. A fear settled in me, I did not go to the doctor. If I had been 30 years ago, this wouldn’t have happened, I wouldn’t have had so much trouble. People should not listen to anyone. Those who study medicine and those who do not study are not the same. Please pay attention to this. It happened to me, it shouldn’t happen to anyone else,” he said.
