“He didn’t have a clue”

During the World Cup finale, King Carl XVI Gustaf was present.
Then the WC queen Ebba Andersson took the opportunity to talk to the king.
– I hope he follows my advice, says the Swede to Aftonbladet.

Last weekend, the World Cup for cross-country skiing finished with the last race of the season on Swedish soil in Falun. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well at all, because the Swedish riders suffered a major wall fiasco.

Ebba & the King

During the very last World Cup race on Sunday was Ebba Andersson the third best Swede in a modest 18th place. How lucky then that a royal visit could raise the spirits of the Swedish cross-country skiers.

Both King Carl XVI Gustaf and Prince Carl Philip was on site in Falun to follow the ski party.
– Both were in a good mood, so it spread a bit, Ebba admits to Aftonbladet.
– It was fun to have the opportunity to have a small conversation with him and Prince Carl Philip.

Andersson’s words

The WC queen from Planica 2023 met the King after Sunday’s race and talked about skiing, of course. Then Andersson a call to Carl XVI Gustaf, who is a big skiing enthusiast.
– It seems like it. So I advised him to sit out this week when it’s time for the SM for us. He wasn’t as well aware of that, but he was encouraged by it. Hope he follows my advice!, says Ebba in the interview.

– We just chatted a bit, as acquaintances, I was about to say. They are nice, she says to the evening newspaper.

His Majesty also enjoyed himself in place during the World Cup final.
– It was great to be here. Brilliant weather and great atmosphere among the audience. I’ve been here any number of times. It’s just as exciting and fun when things go well and just as sad when things go badly, says Sweden’s king to the TV channel Viaplay.
