Kenyan police announced today that they have caught the suspect in connection with the dismembered bodies of 9 women found in the Mukuru garbage dump in the capital Nairobi. Serial killer Jomaisi Khalisia confessed during police questioning that he first strangled and then dismembered 42 women, including his own wife.
Police said they analysed the mobile phone application transactions of one of the victims, Josphine Mulongo Owino, and that she had made a wire transfer on the day she disappeared, and that the clues they obtained led them to Jomaisi Khalisia.
GARBAGE INSPECTION CONTINUES
Police searched Khalisia’s flat, which is 100 metres from the area where the victims’ bodies were found, and initially found phones, a women’s bag and many other items, including women’s underwear.
Kenyan police first found body parts in plastic bags on July 12, and announced the next day that they had found bags containing more body parts.
Kenyan police stressed that the dump continues to be searched as an active crime scene. (DHA)
