Trump made a statement to the press at Trump Tower in Manhattan after the jury’s verdict finding him guilty.
The former US President said about the court’s decision, “If they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone. These are bad people. I believe in most cases these are sick people.” said.
Claiming that the decision against him was made with political bias, Trump said, “They are in full cooperation with the White House and the Department of Justice. All of this is done by (Joe) Biden and perhaps his men.” he said.
“I’m the front runner for the presidency and I’m under a court-imposed gag order from a man who can’t put two sentences together,” Trump said. he said.
“WE LIVE IN A FASCIST STATE”
Reminding that such treatment (speech ban) has never been given to any other US president in history, Donald Trump said, “We live in a fascist state.” he stated.
Trump said about court judge Juan Merchan, “There has never been a judge this contradictory. I am now under a speech ban that no one else has.” he commented.
Stating that he had to pay thousands of dollars in fines and was threatened with prison, Trump reminded that he was the leading candidate of the Republican Party for the presidential elections.
Trump said that he collected approximately $39 million in donations in the 10 hours following the announcement of the jury verdict, and gave the message that the outcome of the case would not negatively affect the voters.
Trump noted that November 5, when the US presidential elections will be held, will be “the most important day in the history of the country.”
TRUMP’S ‘SILENCE PAYMENT’ CASE
US President Trump was indicted by a grand jury on March 18, 2023, as part of the investigation conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office regarding the illegal “hush fee” payment to Stormy Daniels, an actress in adult films, during the 2016 presidential elections.
Trump appeared before a judge in New York on April 4, 2023, for “hush money” and fraud in related records. Rejecting 34 separate accusations against him, Trump described the allegations against him as a “political witch hunt” and stated that he saw the accusations as “interference in elections”.
A FIRST IN US HISTORY
Trump was found guilty of all 34 charges against him by the jury yesterday, as a result of the 6-week trial in New York.
Thus, Trump made history as a former president who appeared before a judge for the first time in US history and was found guilty by a jury for the charges against him.
