Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of world-famous Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman, also known as El Chapo, who was detained in the open prison in Los Angeles, was released.
In their statement, US Federal Bureau of Prisons officials confirmed that Aispuro was released and announced that no further information could be given about people whose detention period ended for privacy and security reasons.
4 YEARS OF SUPERVISED RELEASE WILL BE APPLIED!
It was stated that Aispuro, who regained his freedom, would be placed on probation for the next 4 years. During this period, Aispuro must reside in the place determined by the court and notify the competent authorities of any change of work or home address.
HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO AN OPEN PRISON!
Aispuro was arrested at Washington Dulles International Airport in the USA on February 22, 2021, after it was determined that he was involved in Guzman’s affairs and was imprisoned for 3 years. Aispuro was transferred to an open prison from the prison in the US state of Texas last June.
HE ACCEPTED THE ACCUSES!
Aispuro, who was tried in the federal court in the USA after her capture, was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 4 years of supervised release at the hearing on November 30, 2021, after she admitted to the charges that she helped Guzman’s drug trafficking and that she acted as an intermediary between her husband and other partners of the cartel while he was in prison.
On the other hand, Guzman, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, is being held in Supermax Prison in the US state of Colorado to serve his life sentence.
