Hazard ends his football career – aged 32

The 32-year-old announces that on Instagram.

“You have to listen to yourself and say stop at the right time. After 16 years and over 700 matches, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I have lived my dream, played and had fun on so many pitches around in the world,” writes Hazard.

Eden Hazard was bought from Chelsea to Real Madrid for over one billion kroner in the summer of 2019. However, the time in the Spanish capital was anything but successful for the tricky midfielder. Last summer he left the club on a free transfer.

Hazard scored 33 goals in 126 internationals for Belgium and was team captain during the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
