As soon as the good weather arrives, the pollen released in theair bother many people. This is called hay fever or allergic rhinitis. This respiratory condition is characterized by hypersensitivity of the nasal mucosa to a allergen which affects the quality of life of the allergic person.
Hay fever or allergic rhinitis
In fact, hay fever or allergic rhinitis is exactly the same thing. Hay fever refers more specifically to seasonal rhinitis that begins when leaving thewinter and continues until the summer, however, the term allergic rhinitis is the one retained by doctors. Sneezing, eyes red, swollen eyelids, nose flowing… So many symptoms that occur after exposure to pollen or any other allergenic substance. But it is particularly true for the pollens of grassesfodder plants, pines, hazelnuts, birches and plane trees…
To relieve the patient and cut short any risk of aggravation (by secondary infection for example), allergic rhinitis must be taken care of without delay. Talk to a pharmacist. But if it takes a form that is too repeated, too intense or too prolonged, consult your doctor. Some allergies may be relieved byhomeopathywhile others will require the use of antihistamines or a course of desensitization.
