After a long hiatus, the Delta Force series is making a surprise return with a new game called Delta Force: Hawk Ops.
The ninth game of the FPS series, which has been silent for a long time, Delta Force: Hawk Ops It is being developed by TiMi Studio Group, known as Call of Duty Mobile developer.
Delta Force officially returns with Hawk Ops
Delta Force started in 1998 as a PC-only series and expanded to consoles four years later. Finally, its PlayStation side debut caused Delta Force: Urban Warfare to be still considered one of the best FPS games for PS1.
California-based developer NovaLogic was releasing new Delta Force games every year until it released Delta Force: Xtreme in 2005. The sequel, Xtreme 2, met with mostly negative reviews in 2009, prompting the company to move on to other projects. After canceling three such ventures and facing financial difficulties, the studio was sold to THQ Nordic in 2016. The Austrian publisher has since shown no intention of reviving the Delta Force series.
However, Delta Force: Hawk Ops, a new game belonging to the Delta Force series, is currently being developed by TiMi Studio Group, the developer of Call of Duty Mobile. The Chinese mobile game giant announced its latest game with a promotional trailer dated August 18 that shows action in various venues. The 30-second video is designed to lead the way for the game’s full announcement to be made at the 2023 Gamescom event on Tuesday, August 22.
The game will be on all platforms
TiMi Studio Group has confirmed that Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be a multiplatform game for both PC and consoles, as well as mobile devices. The game will offer a free experience like most other contemporary titles. Additionally, this business model will make Delta Force: Hawk Ops a fundamentally multiplayer experience. However, the upcoming FPS will also feature a campaign mode inspired by the 2001 Hollywood production of Black Hawk Down.
Hawk Ops will be the second Delta Force game inspired by Ridley Scott’s iconic war movie and comes two decades after Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. However, with this similarity, there are currently no signs that the upcoming FPS will be a remake of NovaLogic’s 2003 game.
