“Have you thought for a second?”

The Twitch streamer LetsHugo is known for being a bit “lost” from time to time. A clip of the Luxembourger is currently going viral showing an unsuccessful bottle flip.

What kind of action was that? In the stream on April 18, 2024, “LetsHugo” wanted to organize a “Bottle Flip” challenge with the friendly streamer “Wichtiger”: The winner is whoever manages to throw their bottle more often so that it rotates in the air and then ends up on the bottom of the bottle.

However, there were problems when selecting suitable bottles: More importantly, LetsHugo had different bottles available in Madeira than he had in Germany. After all, there must be fair competition.

Does this actually work with glass bottles?

What went wrong? After LetsHugo and Importanter had briefly discussed the nature of the Cola bottles on Madeira, the Luxembourger finally had the saving idea: He still had glass bottles there, so would the trick work?

In the spirit of science, LetsHugo spontaneously grabbed his glass bottle, screwed it on tightly and skillfully threw it into the air. In fact, the bottle performed a graceful turn – only to promptly shatter into countless shards upon landing.

While LetsHugo first surveyed the damage, his friend stood by him with compassionate words: “Digga, are you stupid? What? You are kidding me! Did you think for a second, just now?” Then Importanter asked whether the streamer was okay.

The stunt is followed by a chaotic clean-up operation

What happened next? The clip ends at this point. In the stream, the situation went a little further: You can hear how Importanter regrets his laughter when it becomes clear that LetsHugo has cut himself on the shards.

Together with the chat, he tries to somehow coach the streamer through it: from treating the wound to collecting the shards and then cleaning up afterwards. LetsHugo doesn’t have a hand brush, so he puts his vacuum cleaning robot “Jeff” on the table to remove the smaller fragments.

After almost 40 minutes you can continue. When LetsHugo watches the clip again together with Importanter, he can already laugh about the whole thing.

Clip goes viral – LetsHugo reacts annoyed

How was that received? The failed bottle flip is currently the most viewed clip on LetsHugo’s Twitch channel. The stream excerpt has also spread to other social networks. A video showing Papaplatte’s reaction to the clip received almost 28,000 likes on TikTok.

The video even had 170,000 views on X, formerly Twitter. In a comment, LetsHugo explains that he didn’t expect the bottle to shatter like that. He also insists that he doesn’t do such actions specifically for viral clips: After all, he made sure to check whether the bottle was closed so that nothing got wet (via X).

Twitch colleague Trymacs is likely to have mixed feelings about the action: The streamer apparently sees open glasses at work as a personal affront and can get endlessly upset about it. A tightly closed bottle seems to be a clear improvement – as long as you don’t somehow spread the contents all over the room:
