A gigantic product recall is launched on goat cheeses, in particular goat cheese logs of different brands and sold throughout France. The manufacturer has warned of the potential presence of pieces of metal in the cheeses. Here is the list of products and all the info.
It is a gigantic product recall launched by the platform Rappel.conso.gouv.fr and many supermarket chains in recent hours. It all started with an alert launched by the Riblaire Cheese Company which evokes a precautionary principle. The company, which manufactures goat cheese logs for many brands, mentions a “risk of the presence of metallic foreign bodies in the products”. Metal could be present in these goat cheese logs sold in multiple retail chains such as Auchan, Magasins U, Carrefour, Leclerc but also Lidl, Leader Price, Cora, Intermarché, Monoprix or Franprix.
What products are affected?
The list was expanded this Monday, September 12 and also concerns ready meals such as sandwiches, “baguettetines” or pizzas containing goat cheese sold at Leclerc in its “hot spots”. The brands of 180, 200 or 300 gram goat logs are as follows:
- The crusaders,
- Silver Oak,
- President,
- Sainte Maure,
- Goat logs sold under the U brand but also Carrefour or Leclerc.
What if you bought this product in the last few days?
If you have purchased this product, it is recommended that you check the references on the Conso.Gouv.fr website. Overall, the expiry dates of the products concerned range from the end of September to the beginning of November. It is in any case advisable not to consume them and to bring it back to the store to obtain a refund. “Due to the risk of injury / adverse effects following the ingestion of this product, as a precaution it is recommended that people who hold products belonging to the batch (s) described above not to consume”, thus specifies Reminder Conso on its website.
