It becomes increasingly rare to have to enter a password to access Facebook. Whether you are on a computer or mobile, the connection is generally automatic, the identifier and the sesame of your account being memorized in the browser or in the app. Suddenly, the day when, for any reason, the social network claims your password, there are strong probabilities for you to forget it and that you stay stupidly blocked …
Do not panic! Like many other online services, Facebook has planned this case – very common … – and the procedure to reset a forgotten password is very simple. You just have to have access to the email address or mobile phone number associated with your account to recover the single use code that Facebook sends you for the occasion. Please note, do not renew this rescue operation too often, otherwise you will see your account blocked by Facebook.
But even without memory problem, for a simple security question, it is recommended to change your password regularly to protect yourself from hacking or indiscretion. Again, the modification is easy and quick, on mobile as on computer. And, this time, you can change your password as often as you want.
In any case, be sure to choose a new solid and preferably unique password. Facebook requires that it has at least six characters. But we recommend that you of course follow the basic safety rules in the choice of a password: mix letters in lowercase and uppercase, figures and punctuation signs!

You can change your password on Facebook at any time, on a computer and on mobile.
With the web version for computer
- Access your Facebook account with your usual web browser. In the headband at the top of the page, on the right, click on the Small arrow pointing down or on your profile photodepending on the presentation.
- In the drop -down menu that appears, click on Parameters and confidentialitythen on Parameters.
- The Facebook settings page opens. By default, this is the section General parameters of the account that appears. Click on Security and connection in the left column.
- In the central part of the page, in the section Connectionon the line Change passwordclick on To modify.
- The content of the changes and three fields appear. Grab Your current password in the first. In the second field enter a New Password. Facebook indicates its level of security between weak, medium and strong. Register the New Password in the field Confirm. Facebook checks whether this is the same. You just have to click on Save changes. If you no longer remember your code, click on Forgot password? And see the procedure below.
- A dialogue box appears suggesting that you check the active connections to your account on other devices. If you are not worried, click on Stay connected, then on Continue. This will prevent you from having to re-identify yourself on the other devices you use to connect to Facebook.
- Your password is changed immediately.
With the Facebook mobile application
- Launch the Facebook app on your mobile and identify yourself if you are not connected by default.
- Press Three horizontal lines (at the top of the screen on Android, at the bottom of the screen on iOS), then on Parameters and privacy and finally on Parameters.
- In the game Securitypress Security and connection.
- The screen changes and in the section Connectionpress Change password.
- A new screen appears with three fields to fill. Enter your current password in the first. In the second field enter a new password. Enter the new password again in the third field. - A dialogue box appears suggesting that you check the active connections to your account on other devices. If you are not worried, click on Stay connected, then on Continue. This will prevent you from having to re-identify yourself on the other devices you use to connect to Facebook.
- Your password is changed immediately.

With the web version for computer
- From the Facebook connection page, click on Forgot password? under the button Connection.
- A dialogue box appears. Enter your e-mail address or your phone number, then click on To research.
- A dialogue box appears. Click on Send the code by email Or Send the code by phone To receive the single use code which will allow you to change the password, then click on Continue.
- The content of the window changes. Enter or glue the six -digit code that you received by email or by SMS in the corresponding field, then click on Continue.
- A window is displayed for creating a new password. Indicate your new sesame, then click on Continue.
- A dialogue box appears suggesting that you check the active connections to your account on other devices. If you are not worried, click on Stay connected, then on Continue. This will prevent you from having to re-identify yourself on the other devices you use to connect to Facebook.
- Your password is changed immediately.
With the Facebook mobile application
- Launch the Facebook app. On the identification screen,, press Forgot password? under the button Connection.
- The screen changes. Indicate your phone number in the field of the same name, or press Rather looking with your email address At the bottom of the screen. Indicate your address in the appropriate field, then press Find your account.
- A dialogue box appears. Press Confirm by e-mail Or Send the code by phone To receive the single use code which will allow you to change the password. Then press Continue.
- The contents of the screen change. Enter the six -digit code received in the corresponding field, then press Continue.
- The screen changes and a new dialogue appears suggesting that you examine other connections to your account. Press Keep my active session then on Continue.
- In the new screen, enter a new password. Press Continue.
- A dialogue window appears advising you to note your password. Press OK.
- Your password is changed immediately.
