On January 2, 1999, a major fire raged in the city center of Utrecht. This occurs in one of the rooms above. “I remember it well,” says neighborhood blogger Bert. “It was early in the morning. I first thought it was foggy, but it turned out to be a really big fire, probably due to an accident by one of the residents.” Real estate agent Kees Patist also remembers the fire well. “I lived in Voorstraat above Bordeaux Rood at the time. I followed it all day.”
