Hate crimes against Jews have become more common in Denmark, and now the politicians in the Norwegian Parliament are responding by giving the possibility of tougher penalties for hate crimes in specific zones.

From October 7 last year until June 13 this year, Danish police registered 187 reports of hate crimes against Jews.

Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard (S) believes that there is an “epidemic of anti-Semitism” in Europe and that it requires action.

Funds are also provided to give more young people the opportunity to visit places where there were concentration camps.
