Has WoW Dragonflight saved your trust in Blizzard?

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight was well received. But has it increased your confidence in Blizzard? Or do you still have doubts?

World of Warcraft Dragonflight has been out for almost 2 months now and most of you should have had a chance to get your characters to level 70 and try out the endgame content. But many are still skeptical and current numbers from Raids or Mythic+ suggest that Blizzard has lost many players with Shadowlands who didn’t even give Dragonflight the chance.

We want to take this as an opportunity to find out whether Blizzard was able to make up for lost trust with Dragonflight or whether the expansion is a pure disappointment for you. But let’s list again what has happened in World of Warcraft and Blizzard in recent years and months.

Overall, Blizzard has been rocked by several scandals over the years. There were many allegations of sexism within the company and especially among the World of Warcraft development team. Many layoffs and restructuring followed. In the course of these adjustments, many NPCs were renamed and some controversial decisions were made, such as replacing a picture of a woman with fruit or eliminating numerous sexist-tinged jokes.

But even apart from the company scandals, Shadowlands was not well received by large parts of the community. There was a lot of “required content”, huge content droughts, and general gameplay choices that were criticized.

With Dragonflight, Blizzard promised – as so often before – improvement. This time, however, the general tenor seems to be that something has really happened. There are significantly fewer “chores” in the game, the story and world seem coherent, the return to the old talent system with skill trees is well received. There are hotfixes or balance changes almost every week and just a few weeks after the release there was a first patch, the second is already on the PTR. In addition, there is the declared goal of wanting to bring a total of 6 patches in 2023 – so a lot of content.

But let’s come to you! In this poll, we want to find out how you liked Dragonflight and whether it changed your trust in Blizzard. Note that you only have one vote and cannot change your answer afterwards:

If you want to justify your answer a little better, then feel free to leave us a comment explaining why Blizzard managed to get you back in a positive mood with Dragonflight – or exactly why it didn’t.
