According to that market report by IDC, MediaTek may have surpassed Qualcomm in Android phones in the United States.
48.1 PERCENT HAVE “MEDIATEK”
With the report, it was reported that as of the 4th quarter of 2021, MediaTek signed chips are found in 48.1% of all Android phones in the USA, compared to Qualcomm’s 43.9 percent share. It was stated that these figures show the opposite result of the previous quarter, where MediaTek had a 41 percent market share against Qualcomm’s 56 percent.
It was stated that the increase was largely due to the sales of devices such as Galaxy A12, Galaxy A32 and G Pure, which accounted for 51 percent of MediaTek devices sold in the fourth quarter and 24 percent of the entire Android market in the US.
