Mentioned as Meta’s Twitter rival, Threads is on the agenda this time with a remarkable news prepared by CNN. The news included data from market research firms Similarweb and Sensor Tower.
DECREASED 82 PERCENT
According to Sensor Tower, Threads’ daily active users are down 82% from launch as of July 31, with just eight million users accessing the app each day.
According to Sensor Tower, this is the lowest number since the day after the app’s launch, with its daily active users reaching nearly 44 million.
Sensor Tower added that people are opening the app less often and spending less time.
Threads users opened the app an average of 14 times in the first day, and spent an average of 19 minutes browsing the app, the company reported. However, at the end of the month, these figures showed a sharp decline.
ONLY 2.9 MINUTES A DAY
Abe Yousef, a senior insight analyst at Sensor Tower, said that as of August 1, the average daily time spent on Threads had dropped to just 2.9 minutes per day, with people spending just 2.6 sessions per day using the app.
On the other hand, according to the news, findings from Similarweb also showed the same decline pattern.
The hardest drop is said to have occurred within two weeks of Threads’ launch, but new data is said to show how the drop continues and is ongoing.
According to Sensor Tower, Threads’ daily active users continues to drop by about 1% per day.
Speaking at the company’s meeting last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he was “pretty optimistic” about the implementation.
“We’ve had unprecedented growth from day one, and more importantly, we’re seeing more people come back than I expected every day. Now we’re focused on retention and building on the core elements. From now on, we’ll focus on growing the community at the scale we think is possible.” said.
Threads launched with only a handful of features and then promised to add much-requested tools like reverse chronological content streaming, desktop version of the app, and direct messages.
On July 10, Zuckerberg announced that more than 100 million people had signed up for Threads, making Threads one of the fastest growing apps in history.
The company is reportedly looking into adding “retention features” that can keep users engaged.
IT WAS TWITTER, DONE “X”
Also, Twitter, which has more than 100 million daily active users, has been rebranded as X by billionaire Elon Musk, who is the world’s richest man with a fortune of $236.2 billion according to Forbes.
