Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The investigation into the big drug mess in Sundsvall with connections to gang crime continues. So far, seven people have been detained on suspicion of involvement after a major crackdown on Thursday last week, and according to the police, more arrests may soon be the case.

Residents in Sundsvall tell TV4 Nyheterna that they are shocked by the serious crime that has reached their city.

– You feel a general insecurity on the streets, the pub, and that’s where you perceive them to be moving, says Linnea Junggren.

Became a hub for drug trafficking

The police describe the city in Västernorrland as a gathering place for the distribution of narcotics from Stockholm.

– They come to Sundsvall because this market does not have a clear establishment of any network, we have managed to keep these networks away, therefore there is an opportunity here to be alone. There is less competition, says Josef Wiklund, local police area manager.
