Hart Trophy for the NHLs Most Valuable Player to Nathan

Colorado Avalanche center forward Nathan MacKinnon has won the Hart Trophy, given to the NHL’s most valuable player.

Winner of the Most Valuable Player award Nathan MacKinnon, 28, produced a whopping 140 power points in 82 matches in the season that ended. He was Tampa Bay’s second in points Nikita Kucherov after. This was the fourth time MacKinnon was nominated for the Hart Trophy, but the first time he was selected. The Canadian player was also chosen as the best player in the NHL players’ association vote.

The rookie of the year was awarded to the Chicago Blackhawks Connor Bedard.

The best defenseman award went to the Vancouver Canucks Quinn Hughes.

Winnipeg Jets was awarded the best goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck.

Finnish captain of the Florida Panthers Alexander Barkov received the Selke Trophy for the league’s best defensive forward already in May.
