England have not impressed so far during the football European Championship.
Even the icon Gary Lineker calls the national team’s effort “crap”.
Now attacking star Harry Kane strikes back against the legend’s sawing.
Ahead of this year’s football European Championship, England was singled out as one of the big gold favorites. But so far they have not managed to live up to the high expectations.
Lineker sawing
In the opening match, there was a narrow 1-0 victory against Serbia, and after the match they only managed to get a 1-1 against Denmark. English football fans and especially football fans expect so much more from this national team edition with so many star players in the squad.

The icon Gary Lineker was one of those who raised his voice for the weak effort against the Danes.
– What I mean is that you can come up with any words and swear words, but it was shit, said the legendary striker in the podcast “The rest is football”.
Kane fights back
But the current national team star Harry Kane does not appreciate that criticism at all and is now fighting back.
– What former players, and who are now experts, have to realize is that it is very difficult not to take it in right now, especially for some players who are not used to this or players who are new to this environment, says the attacking star at a press conference.
– I think they (the experts) have a responsibility. I understand that they have to be honest and give their opinions but they also have a responsibility as ex-England players because a lot of players look up to them. People listen to them and people care about what they have to say.

Gary Lineker never managed to win a title with England and reached the World Cup semi-finals at the earliest in 1990. Therefore, Kane wants to highlight how difficult it is to go far in the championships and that it has been a very long time since England won anything.
– I would never be disrespectful to an ex-player. All I’m saying is, remember what it’s like to wear this shirt and that their opinions matter. Some of the guys, I don’t know how many, but we are touched by this. We all want to win a big championship and I’m sure they want us to win a big championship. It would be much better if they were as helpful as possible and built our players’ self-confidence, says the national team captain to the journalists.

During the weekend, there were also reports that Kane was allegedly behind a crisis meeting with his teammates. But according to him, it is a pure lie.
– No, that never happened and I don’t know where it comes from. It’s probably just people trying to make something out of nothing. We only had a small briefing and then spent seven hours with our families…, admits the 30-year-old.
