Finally, a few story details about Indiana Jones 5 have been leaked. One of the scenes revealed will take a step that even Star Wars balked at. Harrison Ford is digitally rejuvenated. And fights against Nazis again.

Younger than Star Wars: Harrison Ford attacks Nazi castle

Empire claims to have learned this from director James Mangold. So the movie begins with a sequence that takes viewers back to 1944. Into a castle full of Nazis. Through the miracle of rejuvenation technology, there will be a reunion with the Indy the Raiders of the Lost Ark era. “And then we find ourselves back in 1969“, explains the filmmaker.

It is not known whether the opening scene represents a memory or a dream sequence. The rejuvenation of the main actor may seem doubtful to some fans, it was already very controversial in films like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story or The Irishman. And even the last Star Wars trilogy left Ford’s face untouched. However, the actor can reassure skeptics:

This is the first time I’ve seen anything like this and actually believed it. It’s a little spooky. […] I don’t even want to know how that works. But it works.
When is Indiana Jones 5 with Harrison Ford coming out?

Whether Indy fans come to the same conclusion remains to be seen. The bar is high. After all, the opening sequences of the first three films are a particularly beloved part of the series for many community members. Indiana Jones 5 is coming June 29, 2023 to the movies.
