Harris conducts his first interview as a presidential candidate

Hard line against illegal immigration and continued support for Israel – this is what Harris promises to implement if she wins the presidential election this fall.
The promises were made in her first interview as the Democratic presidential candidate.
And something that is extra surprising is her statement about picking a Republican into her government.

Kamala Harris has been interviewed by CNN, which is the first interview she has done as a presidential candidate. There she talks about the moment she found out that Joe Biden is ending his presidential campaign.

During a Sunday breakfast with the family, just after they had finished eating their pancakes and bacon, the phone rang at the Harris home. It was Joe Biden who said he is dropping out as the Democratic presidential candidate ahead of the upcoming election.

– I asked “are you sure?”, he answered yes. He was very clear that he would support me, says Kamala Harris.

And according to Harris, the United States is now ready to move on from Trump and embark on a new path forward.

Have changed opinions

During the interview, Harris is pressed extra hard regarding two questions where it turns out that she has changed her mind. It is about the illegal migration across the border from Mexico, where she now promises tougher measures, and about the oil extraction method fracking, which she previously opposed but now says she will not ban.

At the same time, she believes that her basic values remain the same, even though her time as vice president has given her new perspectives on several issues.

– I think the most important and significant aspect of my political perspective and my decisions is that my values have not changed, she says.

Republican in government

In a gesture of unity, she also says it would “benefit the American people” if she were to put a Republican in government if elected.

– Throughout my career I have encouraged different opinions, says Harris.
