Hardly anyone has found 2 of the rarest items so far – fans hope it stays that way

In Diablo 4, there are certain items that can be found only rarely. Two of these items have so far only been discovered by a few players, leading to discussions in the community.

While we were slammed with loot in the early betas of Diablo 4, the drop rate in server slam has been reduced. This was retained for the release of the game, although you get Legendaries regularly – Unique Items, on the other hand, are found more rarely.

And so far hardly any player has been able to get hold of two of them. A tweet from community leader Adam Fletcher even questioned the existence of the items (via Twitter).

The grind for special loot is part of the endgame of Diablo 4. Here you can get an insight:

“Harlequin Crest” and “Grandfather”

What is it with the “Uniques”? These unique items (“Uniques”) are similar to legendary items (“Legendarys”). Like Legendaries, they have special properties that cannot be transferred to other items.

One of the uniques is the helmet “Harlequin Crest”, which was already very strong in Diablo 2 and is called “Shako” by the community. The coveted helm gives you 4 ranks for each ability. In addition, it increases your life by 1,000 points, grants you a damage reduction and a reduction in cooldowns.

The second rare item that hardly any player has found is the “Grandfather”. This is a two-handed sword that gives you a boost to your life points, your damage and your skills (via Ginx).

How do you get the items? You get them by defeating certain bosses in Diablo 4 at World Tier 3. However, this is only possible from level 50, you also have to go through a certain dungeon in order to be able to increase the world level.

By the way, at the beginning of Diablo it makes sense to set the world level to 1.

The fact that hardly anyone has found the two special items so far has sparked discussions on social media.

“Some people’s patience has run out”

On the Diablo 4 subreddit, u/Then-Lock-5964 notes, “People whining about low drop rates for rare uniques will kill the game” and adds a comparison to Diablo 2’s item farming:

If the developers listen to them and increase the drop rates for items like Grandfather and Shako (Harlequin Crest), the D2 aspect of farming for cool items will be destroyed and people who want to spend more hours in the game will have no incentive to keep playing .

There’s a reason D2 has lasted so long; a big part of that was the extremely rare items. Please understand, it’s okay if you, the player, do NOT get EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the game on a silver platter. Bloody hell!

The post is from June 9th and already has 4,700 upvotes and 1,700 comments.

User Dreadsock responded with: “LMAO (Laughing My Ass Off) about crying over increased drop rates less than a week after the official launch.”, and received over 2000 upvotes for it. Many seem to share his opinion.

pp21 “feels that a lot of people’s patience and attention spans are just completely exhausted. Some people want instant gratification without struggling through the Diablo grind.” – 754 people upvoted him.

Others note that the comparison with looting in Diablo 2 lags. There, they had to spend hundreds of hours just to get hold of valuable items, while here, according to Gravijah, they got “any version of every item needed for the character, including uniques.”

“The main difference is that in D2 I could trade a great unique for what I actually wanted. Here, a unique you don’t want is next to worthless. But yeah, I agree, complaining so soon after launch is kind of silly,” adds Commercial_Juice_201 on the subreddit.

So most seem to agree that looting in Diablo 4 is good the way it is and shouldn’t be changed.

MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider was particularly impressed by a special loot feature.
