“Of course a drink is served so that we can keep our pants on. But I think in recent years we have been seen far too much as a flat catering business. But such a club is actually a cultural platform for the city,” says Omar Waseq of theater café Teatro. He is pleased with the night vision of the municipality of Utrecht, which states that nightlife has been a neglected child in municipal policy for years. The municipality therefore wants to work on expanding the number of nightclubs in the coming years.
