Rögle found themselves at a disadvantage in the final series after Skellefteå decided the first final match with four minutes left in the third period.
But despite the loss being the first in the year’s playoffs for Roger Hansson’s team, the Rögle coach was able to take several positives from match one.
– In terms of performance, I think we played a good match. I think we have full control in both second and third, so when like on a change in second and one in third, in that change in third they score. There we become a bit passive, from the center zone down into our own zone, there is a chain effect in that passivity and it leads to a goal, Hansson explained to TV4 Play.
The first final match was characterized by a lot of fight and a lot of discipline from both sides. However, Roger Hansson thinks there is no reason to panic and he knows what needs to be improved before Monday’s second game.
– It is to do everything a little faster so that when we have this advantage, take advantage of it in the form of moving the puck with high quality and then get these shots down a little faster so that they go through and to be in there on the inside.
– That’s how they score their goal, it hits a butt and then it’s a cross in – that’s what it takes to score that goal. But again, totally fine. I still think we are in a good place.
Match two between Skellefteå and Rögle will be played on Monday starting at 19:30 on TV4 Play.
