Hans Wahlgren fell asleep in May earlier this year.
When he was seriously ill, Renée Nyberg met him to record a greeting for his daughter Pernilla.
A greeting that is now played in “What a life!”.
– We are in each other, she is a part of me and I a part of her, we hear Hans say.
In “What a Life!” it has been Pernilla Wahlgren’s turn to be celebrated at the Oscar Theater in Stockholm. Father Hans Wahlgren passed away in May this year after a period of illness and Renée Nyberg met him when he was seriously ill to record a video greeting to Pernilla.
Hans describes Pernilla as a fantastic mother.
– A single mother. How she got through all that she’s been through, that’s why it’s so amazing to see now what a tight relationship Pernilla has with her children. That’s almost what you admire her for the most, says Hans.
He too had a tight bond with his children as well as grandchildren.
– I have always been close to my grandchildren through the game, I have played with all of them. Even with my own children, says Hans.
“There is probably no one I love as much as Pernilla”
Three of Pernilla’s four children, Bianca, Benjamin and Theo, are on the couch next to Pernilla when the greeting is played, and it gets really emotional.
– I wouldn’t want to say that we are very close, Pernilla and I. We are in each other, she is a part of me and I a part of her. There is probably no one I love as much as Pernilla. It’s wonderful to have her next to him, we hear Hans continue to pay tribute to his daughter.
And Pernilla talks just as lovingly about her father.
– He is the one who has been my biggest support and has always stood up. The fun, playful grandpa. Also the one I could always call, says Pernilla.
