Basketball player at elite level, sea lion keeper at Borås zoo, runner-up in “Masked singer” and teacher. Yes, Hans Rosenfeldt has indeed managed a lot during his lifetime.
However, he is best known for his efforts behind and in front of the television camera. Rosenfeldt, who first started his career as an actor, has appeared in productions at the National Theater in Gothenburg, among other things. But it wasn’t long before he left the acting job behind.
– When I quit at 28, I played an old man with gray hair and a cane in The Petrified Forest. In addition, we did a terrible Christmas show about an alternative Christmas. It was so bad. I undressed naked and people demonstratively left the salon in droves. I got a stomach ulcer and took Losec. It was terrible. I’m not a good actor. So it is, he has previously told SvD.

Instead, Rosenfeldt started doing radio and writing scripts, among other things for the now iconic 90s soaps “Rederiet” and “Tre Kronor”, and later he became head of entertainment at SVT – a role he would not have enjoyed either.
– I was hired as a creative force but ended up with Laslistor and rehab plans. I was also an extreme middle manager – all responsibility but no authority. Nothing happened, whether I flopped or had the worst hits. It was a very strange position to sit in, he told SvD.

Hans Rosenfeldt is behind “The Bridge”
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Hans Rosenfeldt was the host of a number of different television programs, including “Parliament”, “Dubbat” and “The Supreme Court”.
In parallel with this, Rosenfeldt wrote the script for everything from the horror series “The Affected” to the SVT Christmas calendar “En riktig Jul”.
But as a screenwriter, Rosenfeldt has perhaps been praised most for “Bron”, which was a Swedish-Danish crime series, which dealt with police officers Saga Norén and Martin Rohde and crimes committed on the border between Sweden and Denmark.
The first season of the television series premiered in 2011 and achieved international success. The fact is that “The Bridge” was sold to as many as 180 countries, several of which made their own versions of the series, for example French-English “The tunnel” and American-Mexican “The bridge”.

That “Bron” would be a success came as a surprise even to Rosenfeldt.
– No one could predict that it would be as successful as it was in the end, he has said Swedish Radio previous.

Hans Rosenfeldt: “Treating myself to what I want”
And probably the success of “The Bridge” has led to a little extra ringing in the coffers for Hans Rosenfeldt. As early as 2017, the screenwriter’s company Hans Rosenfeldt AB was going down the drain. It then had a turnover of just over seven million kroner, and when Rosenfeldt was asked how he manages to be so profitable, in an interview with Today’s Industryhe replied:
– I guess it’s that I earn more than what I dispose of. I’m useless at business, I have people to handle all that and an agent to negotiate for me. I only write on things that people have already arranged for me.

He also told the newspaper what he spends his money on.
– I just bought a summer house and I travel a lot. I treat myself to what I want, within certain limits.
