Hans continues to “spin” but after the storm the sun can come

It is above all over Götaland and Svealand that Hans created chaos on Tuesday, where the center of gravity was in the western parts of the country.

– It’s low pressure coming from the east. The low pressures we get in usually come from the west. It’s entering a slightly different path, it’s been spinning a bit, says TV4’s meteorologist Caroline Andersson.

TV4 Nyheternas reporter Johan Håkansson, on location in a windy Gothenburg, tells us that what is actually a parking lot in the fishing harbor is now part of the Göra river.

– It’s really crappy weather, the parking lot has been replaced by the Göta River, which has widened. There is a lot of water that has fallen and continues to fall, he says.

Risk of “poo water”

During the day, the city of Gothenburg has decided to shut off the drinking water from the Göta river, which is at risk of being contaminated by, for example, manure from fields.

– When this much water comes, and flows in from fields and streams, you don’t want to take in unclean water. You simply choose to turn it off and use reserve water, says Johan Håkansson.

During the day, SMHI has issued a red warning for extremely high water flows in Halland as a result of the heavy rain, which so far has managed relatively well.

– At Suseån in Getinge there is a known flooding problem, but there has been work with dikes in recent years. But we know that there will be more rain and it is difficult to predict how large the amounts will be, says Johan Håkansson.

Still windy on the West Coast

TV4’s meteorologist says that the low pressure will remain in parts of Svealand, Götaland and parts of southern Norrland.

– It is still windy even during the evening, especially on the West Coast. Tomorrow it will move a little further south, says Caroline Andersson.

Several orange flood warnings are issued for watercourses in Svealand and Götaland. But the wind looks like it will decrease somewhat during tomorrow.

– But there are still strong gusts of wind in southern Svealand, it’s also blowing up a bit in the mountain world, where there could be storm gusts tomorrow.

During Thursday, Hans moves north.

– Then the center of gravity of the rain will shift to southern Norrland, even if there will be continued rain in Svealand and Götaland.

Any indication that we will get rid of the storm and get some summer heat?

– If we look towards the end of the week and the beginning of next week, it looks like we might be able to get some warmer air in, but this air is moving on quickly.

– Then it is filled with cooler air again, says Caroline Andersson.
