She got sick and missed almost the entire World Cup two years ago.
And this year she became ill for the World Cup upload.
Now Elvira Öberg has finally taken her first individual World Cup medal, silver in hunting start, and the happiest is the acid Hanna.
– I know how much she struggled and had a post out in the World Cup, says Hanna Öberg and wipes tears of joy.
Biathlon World Cup and Elvira Öberg Haven’t really been running in recent years. She has entered the championship as one of the big favorites.
But in Oberhof in 2023 she fell ill and missed almost all races. And last year she had problems with the recovery after the first race and could not do herself justice in the others.
– It is clear that the medal still means some to me. I think I have been one of the world’s best biathlons for several years, but still have not succeeded in the World Cup, says Elvira Öberg.
“Was a little abandoned”
Furthermore, it was long uncertain in what form the silver medalist would enter the World Cup in Lenzerheide. She got sick with just a few weeks to the World Cup.
-Two or three weeks ago I had to be a little abandoned, because the clock ticked. I didn’t know what form I would be in and I didn’t want to get another championship where I don’t get to the level, says Elvira Öberg.
– I certainly came pretty close anyway.

– I am so impressed, it is super strong made in view of the background. And I know that in biathlon it will not be easier when you want something very much. That she does it today I am very impressed by, says Hanna Öberg.
– I know what it is like to have a success when you have struggled, I treat her.
Celebrate with bran
Hanna Öberg herself struggled with the form for the World Cup two years ago, and then became the World Cup queen with four medals, two of which are gold. Perhaps this is also why she cries with joy for her little sister’s silver.
– Hanna about someone knows how much I have struggled for this medal and waited for it. She knows how I was in Oberhof. She has been so close as you can be every time. Now we both have two individual World Cup medals, it’s big, says Elvira Öberg.
Big sister Hanna has always gone the step ahead of Elvira, but now Hanna thinks Elvira is catching up with her.
– Now we have huge help from each other. I have her to thank too much, we really help.
The silver medal will be celebrated with bran at the Swedish hotel on Sunday evening.
