Hanna Öberg misses the World Cup in Holmenkollen – Stina Nilsson now gets the chance

Biathlonist Hanna Öberg will miss the upcoming World Cup competitions in Holmenkollen.

Hanna Öberg became ill after the WC in Czech Nove Mesto and she is skipping the competitions in Norway to get fully healthy, writes the Swedish Biathlon Federation in a press release. As expected also missing Lynn Persson. She ended the season after the WC for scheduled shoulder surgery.

In Holmenkollen you get instead Stina Nilsson, Johanna Skottheim and Anna-Karin Heijdenberg the chance in the women’s squad. For Heijdenberg, it will be his debut in the World Cup.

Three World Cup weekends remain in the season. Elvira Öberg is the best Swede in fifth place in the overall standings – just over a hundred points behind the Norwegian leader Ingrid Landmark Dental violence. Martin Ponsiluoma is the leading Swede on the men’s side with a seventh place.

The competitions in Holmenkollen are decided Thursday–Sunday.
