It was learned that Turkish security forces warned Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh against an assassination attempt before his trip to Iran.
STEEL SHIELD FROM MIT
Suspicious activities were detected against Haniyeh, who came to Turkey after his family members were killed. MIT increased his security code and built a steel shield around Haniyeh. Turkish intelligence’s sensitivity on this issue continued in Qatar. According to the news in Türkiye Newspaper, a Hamas official stated that Ismail Haniyeh survived two separate assassination attempts in Istanbul and Doha and that he survived these processes safely thanks to MIT’s preventive efforts.
HANİYE AND HAMAS WERE WARNED
On the other hand, it was learned that Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah were invited by Iran within the same protection protocol. It was noted that the Turkish side warned Haniyeh and Hamas after Nasrallah was removed from the list.
70 PEOPLE WERE QUESTIONED
There is no information that the warning to Hamas and Haniyeh was shared with the Tehran administration. However, the selection of Imam Ali Base, where the Presidential Palace is located, as the residence address of Ismail Haniyeh and the accommodation of Yemen Houthi Representative Mohammed Abdus Salam, Kataib Hezbollah Commander Hamadani and Islamic Jihad leader Jihad Nahhale in the same building are evaluated as steps towards security in parallel with these developments.
It was learned that MİT also warned Hamas about mobile communication devices, land transfers and internet use before its visit to Tehran.
INFORMATION EXCHANGE WITH IRAN CONTINUES
As the investigation into Haniyeh’s murder deepens, the number of people questioned has exceeded 70. The field investigation and all footage of the Veterans’ Mansion and the Presidential oath-taking ceremony, the two different locations he visited afterwards, were subjected to detailed examination by Iranian security forces. It is assessed that the intelligence flow prior to the assassination began at least eight hours earlier and that physical infiltration occurred during Haniyeh’s visit to the Milad Tower after the oath-taking ceremony.
Turkish security sources stated that the entire process was being closely monitored and that information exchange with Iran regarding the incident was continuing.
