Recently, the well-known gaming streamer HandOfBlood showed a game on Twitch that almost nobody knows about and that is no longer available for purchase on any platform. “Sea of Mutation”, as it is called, is not only extremely rare, but is currently owned and played by only a very few players worldwide.

“Nobody in the world knows this. Exclusive insight”
Which game is it? Recently, HandOfBlood welcomed his streamer colleague Sterzik to one of his live streams. Hänno tells a strange story: The day before, he wanted to give Sterzik an insider tip for a new game – “Sea of Mutation”. However, when Sterzik tried to find the game on Steam, he encountered a problem – the game simply could not be found.
HandOfBlood explains in the stream that “Sea of Mutation” is a game that hardly anyone knows. To underline this, he shows his viewers that the game is in his Steam library, but the link to the shop page only leads to the general homepage of the Steam shop. “Nobody knows this. Nobody in the world knows this. Exclusive insight,” jokes Hänno before he starts the mysterious game live on the stream.
What kind of game is this? Sea of Mutation transports players to a dark, nuclear-contaminated underwater world inhabited by strange creatures. Players take on the role of an initially ordinary fish fighting for survival in this hostile environment.
The main objective is to attack and devour other fish in order to absorb radiation that slowly mutates the fish. This mutation leads to a continuous evolution that allows the player to transform into a gigantic sea monster (via GameFAQs).
The game reminds many in the community of the popular evolution game “SPORE” from 2008.
Only 16 simultaneous players
After HandOfBlood presents some gameplay of “Sea of Mutation”, Sterzik notices something frustrating: “You know what’s frustrating right now? That people are watching it right now and can’t play it.”
What happened to the game? Shortly afterwards, Sterzik reads out a message from the Twitch chat: “The publisher has been banned on Steam.” Apparently, the game was removed from Steam immediately after its release.
According to SteamDB, “Sea of Mutation” was released on Steam on July 25, 2024 and cost about 5.30 euros. Currently, only about 16 people are playing the game at the same time (as of August 9, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.).
Why the game disappeared from Steam so quickly and what is behind the publisher’s ban remains a mystery for now. There is no official information about the incidents so far. However, the fact is that “Sea of Mutation” is currently a rare game that can no longer be found on Steam.
