Handball: Sweden lost to the Netherlands in the Olympic Games

Sweden started the best and had a 10–6 lead after eleven minutes.

But the Netherlands caught up and it was an even match that awaited, with Sweden mostly leading.

  • Until the last ten minutes when the Netherlands stepped up and took the lead. Sweden then took a time out with five minutes remaining and the gap began to widen. There was then another time out with two minutes left when the score was 30-28 to the Netherlands.

    However, the Swedes did not equalise, as the Netherlands won 30–29

    – We have some work to do. At the same time, it looks good in large parts of the match. We have played together for about 12 minutes in training. We concede 30 goals, that’s too much, says team captain Jamina Roberts in SVT.
