– We had three, four goals to go for at the end and got a little stressed but managed to keep away. The pace of the match was a bit low but winning was the only thing that mattered, says Alexandra Bjärrenholt, who received the award as best player in Skuru after six goals and ten assists for the Handball league live.
Skuru made a move in connection with a delicious goal. Isabel Van Kerkvoorde finished with a Japanese for 23-19 where Bjärrenholt was involved and built up the attack from the left side. Then Skuru’s goalkeeper Rebecca Nilsson saved the free position from Melanie Felber, after which Felicia Palm Robertsson made it 24-19.
“Couldn’t stop at Bjärrenholt”
However, it was not the decisive move. With 1.38, Carolina Grindbacka reduced it to 28-26 for Skara and the team picked out the goalkeeper to bet on an extra outfield player. With 21 seconds left, Aldis Heimisdotter, the player of the match for Skara, reduced the score to 28-27 but Skuru was able to hold on.
– We couldn’t stop Bjärrenholt and what she is best at. We are good at hunting but it wasn’t enough. We needed another minute. However, we have got several pieces in place, says Skara’s Sara Johansson.
Skuru is three points ahead of Sävehof with three games left to play. Sävehof has four games left.
