Handball: Nightmare opposition for Sweden in the Olympic handball – against Denmark

The nightmare opposition is clear after Spain beat Croatia 32-31 in Sweden’s Group A late on Sunday evening in Paris.

Sweden faced Japan in the morning and won 40–27.

    But with Spain’s victory, Sweden finished no better than fourth in Group A, on the same points (6) as Spain and Slovenia but worse placed after head-to-head meetings and head-to-head goal difference. Denmark won Group B after five consecutive victories.

    In the women’s tournament, Sweden will face Hungary on Tuesday, kick-off at 5:30 p.m.
