– We fight like hell over every centimeter of the track, we really wanted to win. We said we wouldn’t be afraid to go for it, everyone contributed, says Isabelle Gulldén, who scored nine goals, seven of which were penalties for the Handball League live.
There was great drama and more technical errors than fair play when Lugi took this victory. When Emma Ekenman Fernis made it 28-24 with a couple of minutes left, the match tipped over in Lugi’s favor.
– It’s an incredible shame that we didn’t manage to solve it. In the second half, we missed a number of free-kicks, which meant that they got a counter. Then they had the upper hand, says Kungälv’s Mia Lagumdzija.
A draw is enough for Kungälv
In the last round, Lugi must win at home against Västerås, while Kungälv must not take points away against Aranäs on Wednesday.
– We have said that ever since we put ourselves in this situation that we will empty ourselves in every match. We don’t have it in our own hands, but we must give it a chance to reach the qualifiers, says Isabelle Gulldén.
Kungälv is in the qualifying position with eight points and a superior goal difference, while Lugi is relegated with seven points.
– We must win on Wednesday, there is nothing else, and then it will be resolved, says Kungälv’s Mia Lagumdzija.
Lugi has played continuously in the highest league since being promoted in 2006 and is tenth in the marathon table.
