Denmark looked to be heading for a walkover victory and took early command to 4–1. But the Slovenians showed strength and equalized at 5-5.
The Danes never really managed to shake off the Slovenians, who grinned widely at every goal. 17–15 was the half-time score.
But in the end, the red and whites showed that they were outnumbered and with a quarter left in the game slowly but surely slipped away to the final score 33-26.
But it was a heavy loss for experienced 34-year-old Sarah Iversen due to injury. She had to be carried off the plane to be treated on the bench, seemingly with tears in her eyes.
