Syria’s transitional government announces the formation of a national security council to be led by interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa.
The Council will coordinate and govern security issues, which also include political commitments, according to a statement from Syria’s presidential office.
The decision was announced in the form of a decree via the telegram platform. It is another step in the attempts to implement an all -encompassing political orientation for Syria, where different armed groups and phalanges have strong regional brackets.
In addition, the need for strengthened national security has become acute since many Alawiter has been massacred in a wave of violence in which both security forces and armed groups participated.
