As the war rages in Gaza, attacks have taken place in several places in the Middle East. But how are the different groupings connected?
– The spider in the web is Iran, which provides these groups with money, training and weapons, says SVT’s foreign reporter Stefan Åsberg.
The contradictions are great in the region, especially after Israel’s attack in Beirut. And there is absolutely a risk of escalation, says Stefan Åsberg.
– In the short perspective, it is about whether Hezbollah will respond to the attack in Beirut, which they said they would do. But the big risk in a longer perspective is if Iran gets directly involved in this war. Right now, however, there is nothing to indicate that.
