Hamas is now “on the verge of disintegration” and is coming “out of its bunkers” exhausted. This is what Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claims, while the bombing of Gaza continues.

The hard-line Islamist Hamas is branded a terrorist, but a broad movement that has ruled the Gaza Strip for over 15 years. Gallant claims, however, that they are now achieving great success in the war against “the hard core”.

– They have been prepared for battle for a long time, but are approaching collapse, says the Minister of Defense at a press conference according to media in Israel.

– The number that gives up shows the situation. They come out of their bunkers, and admit that they lack weapons and lack food.

– Among them are terrorists who were involved on October 7, he adds, referring to the giant Hamas attack that triggered the war just over two months ago.

However, the capitulations do not make Israel slow down the offensive that has devastated large parts of the Gaza Strip. The bombings and ground fighting continue, causing the alarm of a growing disaster for the civilian population to increase by the day.

To ease the situation somewhat, Israel announces that greater resources will be spent on letting supplies into the Gaza Strip. Imports of food and medicine, among other things, have been cut to a trickle during the war, but now operations at the two Israeli border stations, Nitzana and Kerem Shalom, are to be resumed. However, they will not let any trucks through, but only inspect them before they are sent to Rafah on the Egypt-Gaza border for onward travel into Palestinian land, it says.
