Christmas romantic comedies are already arriving in streaming, with several productions to watch in particular on Netflix.
After the wave of horror films to scare you for Halloween, it’s time for Christmas films to prepare for the end-of-year holidays. And streaming platforms, like Netflix, are not waiting to get up to date. Halloween has barely ended and November has barely begun when the video-on-demand giant is releasing the genre’s first classic romantic comedies online.
It was on November 6, 2024 that the first Christmas film was released on Netflix. Featuring Christina Milian (Matt Pokora’s companion) and music from the group Pentatonix, The Christmas meeting follows a young woman ready to face the challenges of New York in the middle of the holiday season to live her own fairy tale, and finally find the man of her dreams. A classic that fans of festive romantic comedies are likely to succumb to.
This is obviously not the only Christmas film that Netflix subscribers will be able to get their teeth into in the coming days. On November 13, My handsome snowman will tell the story of the romance between a widow and a snowman that magically comes to life. Little respite afterwards since The Merry Gentlemen comes out on November 20. We see a former dancer (Britt Robertson of In pursuit of tomorrow), who sets up a Christmas-themed male cabaret to save his parents’ dining room during the holidays, falling under the spell of the hero played by Chad Michael Murray (The Scott Brothers).
Finally, Lindsay Lohan, who had already distinguished herself in the Christmas romance genre on Netflix, will be appearing in Our little secret on November 27. It follows the adventures of two exes who hate each other, forced to spend the holidays together after discovering that their new partners are related.
Obviously, Netflix doesn’t just offer romantic comedies. If you prefer animated films to watch with the family, That Christmason December 6, 2024, is probably for you. If fantasy tales are your preference, The Snow Sister has everything to seduce you on November 29. Finally, you can also rediscover comedy Santa & Cie with Alain Chabat in the role of Santa Claus, November 19. And if you haven’t had enough, TF1 and M6 broadcast classic TV films of the genre every afternoon.
