(Telestock) – Halliburtona US oilfield services giant, has learned that an unauthorized third party had gained access to some of its systems. This is stated in a filing with the SEC by the company.
When the company learned of the issue, it activated its cybersecurity response plan and launched an internal investigation with the support of outside consultants to assess and remediate the unauthorized activity, it said. Response efforts included proactive deactivation of some systems to help protect them and notify law enforcement. The ongoing investigation and response includes restoring its systems and assessing materiality.
Halliburton is working to identify any effects of the accident.
