“On such a path, for example in the hospital, you meet many people who are better off than you at that moment. It is sometimes difficult to bear, but you just have to keep believing that you can do it yourself. That helps enormous,” says Haller. In recent months he spoke with a number of fellow sufferers, including former Feyeno player Jean-Paul Boëtius. “Despite the same diagnosis, everyone’s disease progresses differently, but we could always help each other with many valuable tips.” A tumor was found in a testicle at one-time international Boëtius, who is under contract with Hertha BSC.
