Hällby school’s sports hall has flaws in a beam in the roof, which was discovered during an inspection in mid-November. The sports hall was closed the same evening, and the students are now allowed to play sports outside for the rest of the semester.
– It is clear that it is not optimal, but the children get warm when they move and have proper outerwear. That’s how we had it during the pandemic too. We take the safe before the uncertain. Should anything happen, we don’t want that, says the school’s principal Anna Östling.
One who has enjoyed outdoor sports is Liam Nahro.
– I keep forgetting to pack warm clothes, then I get cold, he says.
An investigation of the sports hall is now pending, and possibly the roof will have to be completely replaced. From next semester, the plan is for the students to have sports in a different sports hall.
– First we have to find a hall, but we have two in the works. Then we will have to bus the children there and then change the schedule for that, says Anna Östling.
