National minorities are Jews, Roma, Sami, Swedish Finns and Tornedals. The Sami are also an indigenous people.
The Riksdag has recognized Finnish, Yiddish, Meänkieli, Romani Chib and Sami as national minority languages in Sweden.
The national minorities and minority languages have existed in the country for a long time. Their language and culture are considered part of the common cultural heritage.
