Nearly half of the mayors, councilors and members of parliament have had to deal with aggression or intimidation in the past year. That is almost double in comparison with 2014. Then a quarter of the local and provincial administrators and representatives of the people were confronted with this. Also, more than one in three civil servants had to deal with aggression or violence in 2021. This is stated in the Integrity and Security Monitor 2022 that Minister Hanke Bruins Slot of the Interior has sent to the House of Representatives.
