Half Life 2 will return in an RTX remastered version first

The Future Games Show at gamescom 2023 allowed us to have some nice surprises, such as the announcement of a revised and corrected version of Half-Life 2, supported by NVIDIA and all its new RTX and DLSS 3 technologies. It’s not really an official remaster supervised by Valve Software, but the envy of 4 teams of modders who have come together under the name of Orbifold Studios. Together they will work to ensure that Gordon Freeman returns looking better than ever. The members of these passionate developers are not at their first try, since we already owe them Quake 2 RTX, Minecraft RTX and Portal Prelude RTX. And the first images obviously announce a game that will come back to life more than 20 years after its release and which has revolutionized the world of FPS with its incredible physics and scripted NPCs. It’s unclear what will happen to the license, despite the release and success of Half-Life Alyx, but Valve Software shouldn’t underestimate its commercial potential too much. On the other hand, you will have to be patient because the project has only just begun and the teams are still making calls for applications, as long as you have knowledge of 3D modding and 3D Art. Anyway, we can’t wait to see the project.
