“I haven’t thought about my plans for this win yet. It still doesn’t feel real,” she told officials at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto where she picked up her winnings.

O’Keefe, a business clerk at a hospital, has been playing the lottery every week for about a year.

“I was at the gift shop checking my tickets and saw the word ‘Congratulations‘ appear. When I brought my ticket to the clerk she said, ‘Oh my gosh, you won big’,” O’Keefe said.

O’Keefe then called her husband to share the news. “He wouldn’t pick up the first few times. When he finally called me back, I sent him a photo and told him I won big. He didn’t believe me!”

The winning ticket was purchased at General Give Shop in Hamilton.
